Transmedia Storytelling
The storyworld of Heliotrope is a Space Opera/Western with some fantasy elements, taking inspiration from worlds such as Star Wars and Destiny. In a futuristic setting, a new type of energy is discovered in a chaotic, alien dimension. In its raw form, it corrupts anything it touches, but it is later purified as a stone and dispersed throughout the galaxy as a new source of power. The energy, colloquially referred to as Phantom Stones, vastly improves any piece of technology its attached to. However, it “unpurifies” itself every 100 years, slowly killing anyone unlucky enough to be near it.

While most believe Phantom Stones to be a blessing due to their positive effects on the galaxy's technology, others believe it to be a curse. In the year 3085, a group of 5 terrorists called the Quintessence begin raiding stockpiles of the material. Superpowered by the side effects of raw phantom stones, the Quintessence terrorizes the galaxy through their raids.

As a potential transmedia franchise, the story of Heliotrope is designed to be told through a trilogy of games, with side stories and other content told through different forms of media. All Heliotrope related content would be narratively intertwined through the trilogy, ending with its potential third installment.
